Bloody Butcher Grits are Farmer Vaughn’s favorite. It is creamier and more stout, comes with beautiful burgundy highlights, and is packed with antioxidants as well as almost double the digestible protein of conventional varieties (according to our independent lab results). This variety of corn wasa being grown in Ohio in the early 1900s, when our SchoolHouse was still being used, so it has a special history on our farm.
Start a special day off right with a warm bowl of butter and maple syrup grits (that come out blue!), spice up brunch with a cajun shrimp and grits, or skip the mashed potatoes and try cheesy grits with dinner. Or try your hand at polenta, and look out for the distinctive red speckles of Bloody Butcher. At SchoolHouse, our corn varieties are always non-GMO.
