We are seeking a Lead Boiler Operator to operate, maintain and repair Boilers, auxiliary equipment, Controls & FMS Systems located in the interior and exterior of building. The position regularly conducts routine and on-going assessment of the Utility Plant systems operations, performs tests, inspections and analyzes data to assure the proper functioning of site equipment.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Lead assigned shift team – Ensure all team members are performing their assigned tasks
• Delegate duties during emergent events
• Serve as the point of contact during afterhours to respond to emergency service requests on site
• Oversee & monitor the site Utility plant systems and adjust and/or repairs as necessary
• Maintain and repair systems including boilers, water testing, heat exchangers, RO & soft water systems, chilled water systems, hot water heaters, pumps, valves, motors, air compressors, bearings, seals, filters and all associated equipment
• Analyze the operation of various systems, determine the root cause of failures and take corrective action
• Perform preventive maintenance on all Utility Plant equipment
• Maintain tools, order and track inventory for repairs
• Maintain logs, document equipment repairs, adhere to daily work plan, track time
• Communicate daily with Operations Manager and Lead Engineer
• Comply with departmental policies for safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace
• Interact with and communicate repair status to clients
• Work across trades to provide support as required

Work Schedule:

• AWS schedule Sunday-Wednesday 8am-6:30am
• May be required to work overtime as needed and/or flex schedule to meet business needs

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:

• Two years related trade schooling or two years of college
• C4 Boiler Certification
• 6+ years of relevant experience

Required Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or state equivalent
• Completion of a CEU eligible Boiler Operations Training Course or 2 years of hands-on experience.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in building operation, maintenance and repair, or equivalent field experience as service technician
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Facility Management & Building Automation systems and CMMS
• Skilled in the use of tools and machinery required by the position
• Ability to interpret schematics and blueprints
• Team player with good interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to frequently walk up and down stairs for inspections and emergency procedures
• Ability to climb ladders up to 40 feet and lift 60 lbs. repeatedly
